Meeting to discuss BRT slated for Jan. 25

Keep Middlesex Moving (KMM) has announced there will be two public information meetings regarding bus rapid transit (BRT) Jan. 25 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The meetings will be at the Plainsboro Municipal Building.

BRT is a proposed solution to the predicted increase in traffic volume along the Route 1 corridor. The system will offer high capacity, low-floor vehicles, prepaid fare collection, and frequent service. It is currently used in Boston, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh and Denver.

It is being studied by NJ Transit, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Central Jersey Transportation Forum, KMM, and other professionals. The meetings will introduce attendees to BRT, followed by a question-and-answer session.
