Funeral home to offer free bereavement support

The Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen, is offering a bereavement support group. These ongoing sessions will be held every Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The program, which is free of charge, will take place at the funeral home.

Carol Burner, a certified grief recovery specialist, will facilitate the program. A professional with a master’s degree in counseling from Seton Hall University, South Orange, she has spent the past eight years offering individual and group counseling to clients suffering from significant and tragic losses.

Local Lutheran church has Sat. thrift shop hours

St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, located at the top of the hill on Pleasant Avenue (off Amboy Avenue), Edison, has announced its thrift shop hours. The store is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, where shoppers can find bargains on clothing, household items and gifts. Donations are accepted during hours of operation. YMCA holding K-8

day camp registration

The Metuchen Branch YMCA, 65 High St., is holding open registration for children in grades K-8. The camp also offers a Leaders in Training program for young adults in grades 9-10. Specialty camps are available as well. Camp begins the week of June 2 and runs through Sept. 2.

Cost per child for traditional camp is $190 per week, with a $35 camp membership fee. Cost for specialty camp is $200 per week. Before- and after-care are available. For more information, call (732) 548-2044 or register online at www.metuchenedisonymca.org.
