Robert E. Murphy
Mr. Murphy, 58, of Freehold, died Jan. 2 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Queens, N.Y., he had resided in Elmont, N.Y., before moving to Freehold 18 years ago. He was employed as vice president of risk management for Chase Home Finance, Iselin section of Woodbridge, for the past 25 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-69, and was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. Mr. Murphy was predeceased by his wife, Elaine, in 2005, as well as his father, John; a brother, Frank; and two sisters, Joan Mellet and Mary Nelan. Surviving are two sons, Michael and Christopher, both of Freehold; his mother, Edna Murphy of Queens; a brother, Thomas of Ringwood; a sister, Carol Hynes, also of Queens; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
Loretta C. Decker Pesciotta
Mrs. Pesciotta, 88, of Spotswood, died Jan. 1 at home. Her husband, Anthony Pesciotta, died in 1996. Surviving are four daughters, Ellen Marotta of Edison, Mary McGuire of Monroe, Lori Pesciotta of York, Maine, and Judith Jerome of Glen Rock; two sisters, Mary Ross of Midland Park and Rita Gilberti of Union City; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment was in Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville section of Marlboro. Corrine M. Gramas
Mrs. Gramas, 65, of Middletown, died Dec. 28 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Irvington, she resided in Teaneck and Oradell prior to moving to Middletown in 1971. She was a music teacher for Highlands Board of Education. She was a member of the Brookdale Music Club. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Gramas; a daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Tyrone Grant of Woodbridge; a son, Daniel Gramas of Matawan; a brother, William Gosz of Narragansett, R.I.; a brother-in-law, Gregory Gramas; two sisters-in-law, Carlotta Gramas and Sr. Marylin Gramas; and two grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Charles E. Ditmars Jr.
Mr. Ditmars, 75, of Manalapan, died Dec. 29 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Elizabeth, he resided in Clark and Keyport, prior to moving to Manalapan 13 years ago. He was supervisor of maintenance at the Department of Corrections, Avenel, for 10 years, retiring in 1997. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was an exempt fireman at the Eagle Hose Fire Department, Keyport. He was also a former member of the Keyport Planning Board, and past president of Keyport School Board. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan Dimech Ditmars of Manalapan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Garry and Tammy Ditmars of West Palm Beach, Fla., Tommy and Carmella Ditmars of Branchburg, and Charles and Roslyn Ditmars of Collegeville, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Timothy Murphy of Matawan; and four grandchildren.
