Charschan Chiropractic, 490 Georges Road, North Brunswick, will hold its annual "adopt a family" program and holiday clothing drive through Dec. 12. The office will make a monetary donation for each new patient referral, with donations going to items its "adopted" families need. Gift tags will also be available for individuals wishing to purchase items for the families. For information on the clothing drive, call the office at (732) 846-6400.

Stacie Koenigsberg, Monmouth Junction, has joined the community services program at Matheny Medical and Educational Center, Peapack, as a speech-language pathologist in the Somerset and Morris County special child health services early intervention program. Prior to joining Matheny, she was a contracting therapist in early intervention programs for agencies in both New Jersey and New York. She received her bachelor of arts degree in speech pathology/audiology, and master's of science degree in speech-language pathology at Brooklyn (N.Y.) College.

Hany A. Mawla, of North Brunswick, an associate at Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, Roseland, has been appointed to the New Jersey Civil Rights Commission of the Office of the Attorney General, Department of Law and Public Safety. Mawla is a member of the firm's litigation department and concentrates his practice in litigation of matrimonial, non-matrimonial and other family law related matters. He was nominated by Gov. Jon S. Corzine to the Commission on Civil Rights, and has lectured on family law matters on behalf of the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and for the New Jersey Judicial College. An adjunct professor at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, Mawla is fluent in Arabic and was a member of the New Jersey Arab and Muslim Advisory Committee. He is a graduate of Rutgers University, and received his law degree at Seton Hall University School of Law, Newark. Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP has offices located in Woodbridge and Roseland.

OceanFirst Bank is once again reaching out to its surrounding communities for the holiday season. In an effort to answer the holiday wishes of children across Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties, the bank is participating in the Salvation Army's Angel Giving Tree program.

Every OceanFirst Bank branch will have a holiday tree in its lobby adorned with angel tags through Dec. 11. Each tag will display the age and gender of a child whose family is being served by the Salvation Army. Customers and members of the public are welcome to take a tag, purchase a gift and return it with the tag attached, to their local OceanFirst Bank. The Salvation Army asks that all gifts be new and unopened.

Magyar Bank presented United Way of Somerset County with a $3,633 donation as part of the bank's grand opening celebration for its new Branchburg office at 1000 Route 202 south. The bank matched the amount of money won in its "Dash for Cash" contest and donated the money to United Way's Community Care Fund. The bank also opened a "dollar dog stand" offering a hot dog and soda for just $1 at the grand opening, which combined with the contest raised the $3,633 donation. Magyar is headquartered in New Brunswick and operates local branches in North Brunswick and South Brunswick.
