Two found dead in Woodbridge apt. Police say cause of death is unknown, but foul play is not suspected BY KATHY CHANG Staff Writer
WOODBRIDGE - Two township residents were found dead inside the living room of their Woodbridge Gardens apartment on Bunns Lane last week.
Police received a 911 call at 11:38 a.m. on Jan. 10 by the maintenance staff at the apartment complex informing police that they found the bodies of Scott Kulpa, 46, and Kathleen Washack-Mars, 51, inside their apartment.
The maintenance staff told police that relatives of the occupants requested entry to their Unit 7A apartment, after they did not hear from them.
The two individuals were pronounced dead at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy.
"An autopsy [by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner on Jan. 11] did not reveal the cause of their deaths," said Deputy Chief Philip DiNicola. "Foul play is not suspected, pending on the toxicology tests."
The preliminary investigation uncovered no signs of forced entry to the apartment nor any indication of physical injuries to the deceased, police said.
The Woodbridge Police Department Criminal Investigation Division are requesting that anyone with information that might aid in the investigation to contact the Detective Bureau at (732) 634-7700.
