Armed suspects rob bank Police looking for two black males who may have left in a blue Corolla BY KATHY CHANG Staff Writer
WOODBRIDGE - Police are looking for two armed gunmen who stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the Wachovia Bank on Inman Avenue in Colonia last week, police said.
The robbery took place at 5:52 p.m. on Feb. 8, police said.
A teller told police that as she was preparing to close for the day, she observed two black males dressed in dark clothing with face masks on that only revealed their eyes, walk through the rear door, the police report said.
The teller told police the first suspect was carrying a silver handgun and began to approach her at the service counter. The second suspect, who positioned himself in the center of the bank, was carrying two black revolvers with wooden handles, according to the police report.
The teller told police the second suspect began pointing his guns at all persons inside the building, moving the barrels of the guns side to side, the police report said.
The first suspect approached the teller and stated, "Give me the money, don't be a hero and don't touch the alarms." The first suspect then threw a backpack-style bag over the counter and told the teller to "put the money in the bag," the police report said.
After the teller emptied her drawer, the first suspect told her, "I know you have more, I know you have more," the police report said.
As the teller reached down to retrieve more money, it began to fall on the floor. The first suspect began yelling "Pick it up, pick it up," the police report said.
After the bag was filled with money, the first suspect quickly fled the scene and exited the bank through the rear door, police said.
The second suspect remained in the bank and began to look around and yelled "Thanks for cooperating," and then quickly fled the scene, exiting through the rear door, the police report said.
One victim told police that she observed a late-model blue Toyota Corolla leave the bank parking lot after the suspects fled, the police report said.
