James L. Welch

Mr. Welch, 77, of Old Bridge, died March 18, 2007, at home. He was predeceased by his wife, Alberta Joell Welch. Surviving are five sons, Robert A. Welch of Edison, Thomas D. Welch, and his wife, Ellaura, and Jeffrey G. Welch, and his wife, Kathy, all of the Avenel section of Woodbridge, James E. Welch, and his wife, Ann, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Michael S. Welch, and his wife, Deanna Welch, of Anna, Texas; three daughters, Colleen A. Wuelfing, and her husband, Karl, of Lancaster, Pa., and Linda D. Mahan and Margaret J. Davidson, both of Linden; a sister, Leona McGuire of Howell; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his best friend, May Boyce. Services were held at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.

Ruth E. Finneran

Mrs. Finneran, 74, of Old Bridge, died March 20, 2007, in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to her retirement in 1996, she was a service analyst with Verizon, East Brunswick, where she worked for more than 30 years. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jessica Smak, in 1987, and by a grandson, Joshua Reilly, in 2001. Surviving are her husband, Eugene J. Finneran; two sons, Richard Finneran of the Turnersville section of Washington Township and Thomas Finneran of Wagoner, Okla.; three daughters, Sarah Wisiewski of Marlboro, Marianne Whitehead of Edison and Laura Reilly of Lambertvillle; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Spotswood.
