Local man accused of sexual assault of 16-year-old
Man served as victim's basketball coach, according to prosecutor

EDISON - New Brunswick police in conjunction with the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office arrested and charged Bruce Nealous, 46, with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a press release from the Prosecutor's Office.

Nealous has been accused of sexually assaulting an underaged male, now 16, over the course of two years, beginning when the victim was 9 years old. According to the Prosecutor's Office, Nealous had been the volunteer basketball coach of the victim and is currently a coach with the Tri-County Parochial School Leagues.

According to the release, the assaults took place during and after basketball practices. Bail had not been set for Nealous as of the date of the press release and he is being housed in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, North Brunswick.
