Benefit dinner Oct. 4 in memory of local woman

Wild Rice, 414 Main St., will host a benefit dinner in memory of Christina S. Walsh, who lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 32.

The dinner will be held at the restaurant 5-10 p.m. Oct. 4. All proceeds will go to the Christina S. Walsh Breast Cancer Foundation, which was established in 2004 by Bob Walsh to carry out his wife's wishes. "It is the mission of the Christina S. Walsh Breast Cancer Foundation to help ease the burden faced by breast cancer patients and their families," he said. The proceeds for the foundation are directed toward providing financial assistance for breast cancer patients via the Christina S. Walsh Breast Cancer Oncology Fund at University Medical Center Princeton, The Patient Relief Fund at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, and the Christina S. Walsh Foundation Patient Support Fund. Dinner tickets are $50 per plate, and checks should be made payable to Wild Rice.
