Police foil heroin sale
BY KATHY CHANG Staff Writer

METUCHEN - Detectives were able to foil a drug transaction of heroin at the corner of Bounty Street and Amboy Avenue last week, according to police.

Police arrested and charged John E. Toth, 22, Edison, with possession of 34 decks of heroin, valued at $700, possession with the intent to distribute, and possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of Moss Elementary School, at 3:24 p.m. Nov. 20, police said.

Police also arrested a 17-year-old Edison female who was with Toth, and charged her with possession of heroin, police said.

The detectives interrupted the transaction and were able to stop Toth and the juvenile female in their green Ford Taurus a short distance from the transaction, police said.

Toth was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick and was held on $50,000 bail. The juvenile was released to a relative, police said.
