Trio arrested on drug charges BY KATHY CHANG Staff Writer
METUCHEN - After a five-month investigation, detectives from the borough along with the assistance of detectives from Edison Township and the Edison Canine Unit executed a search warrant of a Middlesex Avenue residence that led to three arrests.
Police arrested and charged brothers Ben Luckman, 21, and Dan Luckman, 19, and Megan Zissler, 18, all from Metuchen, for various counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession valued at $3,000 at 3:50 p.m. Nov. 28.
Dan Luckman was charged with 12 counts, including possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of suboxone, possession of drug paraphernalia - a scale, empty bags with controlled dangerous substance [CDS] residue, and straws with CDS residue - and possession of heroin, marijuana, and suboxone with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of Woodwild Park, police said.
Ben Luckman was charged with four counts including possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia - empty bags with CDS residue, and glass pipe with CDS residue, and possession of syringes, police said.
Zissler was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia - empty bags with CDS residue, police said.
Police found over a brick of heroin under the bathroom sink of the residence, over 1 ounce of marijuana, 1 ounce of methodone syringes, and scale and packaging materials, police said.
Dan Luckman's bail was set at $250,000 with no 10 percent option, and Ben Luckman's bail was set at $25,000 with no 10 percent option. The brothers were transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick.
Zissler was released on her own recognizance.
