Police searching for luring suspect
BY CHRIS GAETANO Staff Writer

EDISON - Edison police are looking for information regarding a potential luring attempt that reportedly took place Feb. 5.

According to Lt. Joseph Shannon, public information officer for the Edison Police Department, an 11-year-old girl was walking around the corner of Wynnmoor Road and Pendleton Place around 5 in the evening when a silver four-door car, described as possibly a Toyota Camry with some dents in the side, pulled up next to her, and the driver asked the girl if she lived in the area. The girl did not reply, and she continued to walk. The driver followed her for a short while and then asked the girl if she wanted to get into the car. Scared, she ran toward her home, and the suspect drove away.

Shannon said the driver was a black female with curly black hair and green braces on her top teeth only. She also might have had a birthmark on her lower left cheek. She was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt at the time.

The matter is being investigated by Detective Alan Sciarrillo. Anyone with information should contact him at the Edison police station, (732) 248-7400.
