Man KO'd, robbed outside house
EDISON - A township resident was knocked out and robbed near his house March 6 with no recollection of the attack.
According to police Public Information Officer Sgt. Robert Dudash, an Edison resident was waiting for her 34-year-old husband outside their house on Lyle Place when she saw him walking down the street about three houses down. After spotting him, she went inside but came out five minute later when he failed to walk through the door.
She saw him lying near the curb by their mailbox, unconscious. According to police, he had been struck on the right side of his face, which had begun to swell. He was missing his cell phone and his wallet, containing about $100 cash. After he regained consciousness, she helped him back into the house before the first aid squad took him to JFK Medical Center for evaluation.
The woman reported seeing three black men, one about 6 feet tall, thin, with a medium build, wearing a gray sweatshirt and black baseball cap - she did not describe the other two. Dudash said that it is unknown whether the three were involved in the assault or simply that they were in the area at the time.
