Edison adopts budget
Spending plan up 9.8%; average homeowner to pay $175 more

      EDISON - Edison Township has adopted its final budget for this year. The narrow vote of 4-3 put into action a budget of $115,839,809. Of this, the taxpayers will be providing $74,100,178. This represents a tax rate increase of 9.5 cents and a percent tax increase of 9.8 percent.

      EDISON - Bike owners in Edison Township need not despair if their rides are stolen, provided they've registered it with the Edison Police Department. The department maintains an active bike registry for owners in the township that can help people recover their bikes if they are stolen.

      EDISON - A township man was assaulted after walking in on three men burglarizing his home. The victim, 31, was returning home to his second-floor apartment on March 14 around 12:45 p.m., when he saw three men leaving his apartment after they had apparently burglarized it.

      EDISON- Edison police reported two incidents at the Menlo Park Mall that started as simple shoplifting but escalated into robberies. On Friday,March 14, around 6:10 p.m., a woman was arrested and charged with robbery at the Limited Too.
