Elect new Board of Education members
It is remarkable that the Board of Education has the audacity to request a budget increase of over $9 million after the ouster of Edison's School Superintendent Carol Toth. And members thereof must be held responsible for their actions.

Because Carol Toth was removed from office without the consent of the state education commissioner, her contractual obligations require that she collect her salary until 2010. The expense to taxpayers due to her ouster and increase in salary of the now acting superintendent is expected to reach over $500,000.

Members of the Board of Education were elected to represent the people of Edison. Unfortunately, they seem to think they were elected to squander taxpayers' money without plausible explanations.

It is unacceptable to the people of Edison, but especially to senior citizens who now must watch every penny, to see members of the Board of Education throw away over half a million dollars in an unexplained power struggle. This is why, on April 15, we must elect Veena Iyer, Gene Maeroff and Aimee Szilagyi as members of Edison's Board of Education.
