Card store robbed at mall

EDISON - Edison police are looking for a suspect in an armed robbery at the Menlo Park Mall.

Lt. Joseph Shannon, police public information officer, said that on March 17 around 8 p.m., a 6-foot-1-inch white male, "possibly Hispanic," with black hair in a buzz-cut style, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, walked into the American Greetings store. The clerk was busy helping another customer. While the register was still open, the suspect walked up to the counter and pulled out a 6-inch knife. Handing the clerk a white cloth bag, the suspect ordered the clerk to fill the bag with all the money in the register. The total was approximately $575.

The suspect then ran out of the store with the bag. No injuries were reported.
