Man arrested for gun threat EDISON - A 42-year-old Edison resident was charged with aggravated assault on April 10 and then was released on his own recognizance. According to Lt. Joseph Shannon, Edison police public information officer, a 38-year-old Edison resident traveled to Ovington Avenue to visit David M. Armand, an acquaintance of the victim. The victim owed Armand about $100 and met with him at about 3:05 p.m., when he gave him the money that was owed. After receiving the money, Armand went to his truck, a Ford F150, and allegedly pulled out what was described by the victim as a black handgun, according to police. Armand showed the gun to the victim and allegedly told him that he is "not a person to be fooling around with," according to police reports. Shannon noted that the actual language used was stronger than that, but the general gist was that a threatening comment had been made. The victim became frightened and went home immediately before calling the police. He gave a full description to authorities, who found Armand on Meadow Road about an hour and a half after the incident. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Shannon noted that no weapon was recovered. |
