Taste of Middlesex' was success
On behalf of the Edison Chamber of Commerce board of directors, I thank the event ticket holders, volunteer committee and corporate supporter of this year's "Taste of Middlesex" event on March 31.

The 11th annual "Taste of Middlesex" event that showcased Middlesex County's finest eateries and several beverage companies was a tremendous success. There was an all-time high of 35 food and eight beverage distributors! Over 550 people came to taste the scrumptious food samplings and sip fine wine, beer and spirits. All the stations were exceptionally attractive, and the food was phenomenal, plentiful with international flavors.

The community benefited from the event: $250 worth of nonperishable food donated by attendees was given to the Hands of Hope for the community's food pantry shelves. Leftover cooked food from the participants went to a shelter in Plainfield. A portion of the funds raised by the Edison Chamber will support educational scholarships for Edison students.

The key event sponsors were Lexus of Edison; Amper, Politziner & Mattia, P.C.; Certified Kitchens Inc.; PSE&G, and the Provident Bank. Special accolades go to Ms. Jacki Nitti, Today's Staffing andMs.Michelle Palmucci, Metuchen Savings Bank, for co-chairing the multitask event committee. Mr. Steve McCarthy, Today's Staffing, did an exceptional job as master of ceremony. Guests enjoyed the Edison High School Choir's presentation directed by Mr. Ken Brown. Culinary students from the Edison Job Corps Academy and the staff of the Pines Manor did an outstanding job with helping throughout the evening.

The 11th annual "Taste of Middlesex" event was a huge success due to the many volunteers and supporters. Thank you.
