Original rationale for developing is lost
With regard to "InterCap presents village project plans to public" (4/23/08), I participated in InterCap's public design workshop in March, where I emphatically told the design team that what the site needs is more commuter parking for Edison Train Station. I was unable to attend the plan presentation on April 13, but your article, which did not once mention parking, seems to indicate that the original rationale for developing the site was sadly lost in the push for retail and housing. While I understand the need for InterCap to make a profit from this mega-deal, they must also live up to the lip service they paid about listening to the needs of the people of Edison. For more than a decade, the people of Edison have needed greater capacity at the train station, not more residential development.
