Blood donors needed for Aug. 9 blood drive

Masons Mount Zion Lodge No. 135, 483 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen, will host a blood drive 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Aug. 9. New Jersey Blood Services is issuing an emergency appeal for blood due to critically low supplies in area hospitals. Those with O negative and B negative blood types are especially urged to make a donation.

Qualified donors should be 17 years of age or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in generally good health. Donors must present photo or signed ID and know their Social Security number. Donors over 75 years of age may donate with their physician's note.
