New online course gives drivers a 'brake'

A new online defensive driving course is now available to all New Jersey drivers. The successful completion of the interactive course will take two points off your driver's license and provide a three-year discount on your auto insurance. Sign up at www.driversgoonline.com. This online course, which covers the same material that is currently offered in the classroom setting, features text, graphics, animations and videos that are easy to navigate and offer students an interactive way to learn crucial driver safety information. Among the many topics covered are traffic laws, the danger of alcohol- and drug-impaired driving, and how to handle driving emergencies.

A big advantage of the online course is that the student has no specific time period in which to complete the material and can log in and out as many times as needed, since all completed sections will be saved. This option will allow students to proceed through the course to fit their schedules. The course fee is $49. Each student will receive a certificate upon completion
