Board of Ed. should act like adults
Iam writing in response to the article you had in regard to the special bond issue being held on Rosh Hashanna ("Jewish leaders protest Sept. 30 referendum date").

I find it disgraceful that the Board of Education would even consider holding this election on any religious holiday. I understand other dates were offered, although at first the board seemed to blame the state. It seems as if since it is now public knowledge that the state offered other dates, they should at least stand up and take the blame for once again making a huge error in judgment.

If the issue has not passed after several attempts, does the board think that by not having the Jewish vote, the issue will pass?

To have all these absentee ballots just wastes more of our money. After all, someone has to take the time to count these ballots, and as far as I know, working the polls is not a volunteer job. I would also love to know what it has cost the voters in Edison to continue to put the same question on the ballot over and over.

I hope the board will act like responsible adults and show respect for a holy day by changing the date of the vote and not blaming the state for their mistake.
