Firefighters to collect for muscular dystrophy

Edison firefighters will conduct their annual "Fill the Boot" coin drive on Saturday, Aug. 30. Donations can be given to the firefighters who will be at Parsonage Road and James Street near Route 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Helping the Muscular Dystrophy Association is a year-round activity for the members of the Edison Firefighters Association. In addition to the fundraisers tied to the "Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon," firefighters attend MDA summer camps, play Santa at Christmas parties, and work with local businesses on other initiatives to help the organization.
