Metuchen Lions Club to host dinner

The Metuchen Metro Lions Club will hold its annual fundraising dinner 1:30- 6 p.m. Oct. 12. The dinner, which has the theme "Discover Italy," will take place at Kiddie Keep Well Camp, Roosevelt Park, Edison.

The event's goal is to raise money to sponsor a VetDog. According to the Guide Dog Foundation's Web site, America's VetDogs is a project of the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind that "offers guide and service dogs to veterans of all eras." A major component of the program is to provide service dogs to members of the military recently wounded in combat."

There will be hors d'oeuvres, a buffet, dessert table, raffle and door prizes. For tickets, call Diana Yashinski at 732- 494-8641.
