Ahr shuts out JFK to move record to 5-2

      From Sandy Hook beach to Seaside Park, anglers are finding bass along the surf. Bass and big blues invaded the Navesink this week along with a good mix of weakfish. Bass were taken up to 22 pounds on clam and bunker.

      Despite missing a slew of its regulars this weekend, the Metuchen High School boys cross country team raced to an eighth-place finish at this year's Shore Coaches Invitational at Holmdel Park. "We lost all of our seniors to the SAT on Saturday," Metuchen head coach Tom Yakowenko said.
