Local rabbi to have role in NYC event

Rabbi Dr. Bernard Rosenberg of Edison will represent the New York Board of Rabbis in his position as Holocaust chairman at the "Remembrance and Awareness" event in New York City commemorating the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht. The event will take place at 5 p.m. Nov. 9 at the New York Times Center, 242 W. 41st St. in New York City.

The spiritual leaders of all major New York religions as well as the ambassadors to the United Nations will be represented.

Also remembered will be the genocides in Cambodia, Guatemala and Rwanda, and the ongoing genocide in Darfur.
