      The Teen Advisory Board of the Metuchen Public library invites all Metuchen teens (grades 6-12) to vote for the winners of the Garden State Book Awards. Ballot boxes will be available at the Metuchen Library, 480 Middlesex Ave., the Edgar School library, and the Metuchen High School library.

Pet program slated at Edison Library
      The Edison Township Public Library, 340 Plainfield Ave., will have a program where children can read to dogs and cats at 10 a.m. Dec. 13. The child can read a book offered by the librarian to the pet for 15 minutes. Siblings can share a 15-minute spot if they are registered.

      Metuchen police announce that there will be minimal delays during the Arthritis Foundation 5K run, which starts at 9 a.m., Dec. 7 through the streets of Metuchen. The streets include Grove Avenue, Main Street, Oakland Avenue, and New Street. No streets will be closed.
