Rutgers men's lacrosse head coach Jim Stagnitta announced that the program will host a coaching clinic, Sunday Jan. 25. The clinic consists of teaching sessions that emphasize specific topics in the game of lacrosse for the youth/beginning player or the high school/advanced player.

Teaching sessions include one-on-one question-and-answer periods, along with film analysis and chalkboard breakdowns. The clinic is open to all youth and high school coaches.

The clinic will not only feature RU coaches Jim Stagnitta, James Rogalski and Jason Basso, but also former Rutgers All- American Reid Jackson and Princeton University associate head coach Dave Metzbower.

The Rutgers men's basketball team will look to stop a five-game losing skid tonight on the road against Cincinnati in a 7:30 p.m. tip-off at 13,176-seat Fifth Third Arena on Wednesday. UC will attempt to end a four-game losing streak and capture its initial Conference win.

Freshman Gregory Echenique scored 10 points grabbed a game-high eight rebounds in the loss to Syracuse Saturday.

The game will be televised live in the New York Metropolitan area on SNY.

Rutgers freshman Jonelle Filigno was named the Canadian Soccer Association's U20 Female Player of the Year, the organization announced earlier this week. Filigno becomes the second Scarlet Knight to earn player of the year honors, as former standout Carli Lloyd was named US Female Player of the Year on Dec. 19.

Filigno split time between the Canadian women's national and U20 teams in 2008. She played extensive minutes in Team Canada's 2-1 overtime loss to USA in the Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. She also scored four goals to lead the U20 team to a gold medal at the 2008 CONCACAF women's U20 championship. That team featured RU sophomore Rheanne Sleiman (Vancouver, British Columbia), junior Karla Schacher (Toefield, Alberta) and freshman Shannon Woeller (Vancouver, British Columbia).

Filigno also played in the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Chile, scoring one goal in two matches.
